Hobe Sound Community Chest

Our Mission

  The Mission of the Hobe Sound Community Chest is to raise funds for and to provide financial, advisory and volunteer support to those qualifying nonprofit social service agencies that contribute to the sustained improvement in the lives of needy people in the Hobe Sound community.

Founded in 1949, the Chest, as the major contributor to human services in Hobe Sound, funds social service agencies serving the diverse needs of residents of all ages.  Generous contributions from Jupiter Island, Loblolly, and individuals and businesses in Hobe Sound enable the Community Chest to make a significant difference in countless lives.

The Chest is managed by a Board of over 35 volunteers from the Hobe Sound area, who carefully monitor the effectiveness of the disbursement of funds.  The list of Chest-supported agencies reflects the changing needs of the community, although major beneficiaries continue to be the Dunbar Center, the Hobe Sound Early Learning Center, the Banner Lake Club, and the Boys & Girls Club.
