The mission of the Hobe Sound Community Chest, Inc. is to support agencies that provide essential services to residents in need in Hobe Sound to the end that the quality of life in the greater community is enhanced. Founded in 1949, the Chest, as the major contributor to human services in Hobe Sound, funds social service agencies serving the diverse needs of residents of all ages.

Generous contributions from Jupiter Island, Loblolly, and individuals and businesses in Hobe Sound enable the Community Chest to make a significant difference in countless lives.
The Chest is managed by a Board of
over 35 volunteers from the Hobe Sound area, who carefully monitor the effectiveness of the disbursement of funds. The list of Chest-supported agencies reflects the changing needs of the community, although major beneficiaries continue to be the Dunbar Center, the Boys & Girls Club, the Banner Lake Civic Center and the Hobe Sound Child Care Center.
